Crashing Toys
Who's playing more, me or him? A two year old is discovering trucks and action figures. A forty year old starts playing where he left off. I left off playing with plastic trucks and action figures by crashing them into each other and having them fight, respectively. So tonight, while my son plays peacefully, I start crashing his trucks together and knocking actions figures around. Maybe I should have tried following his example...
4 year old choses her baby's name
The daughter is four years old. However, she is playing "mommy" tonight by the power of a step stool. The step stool gives height to help cook dinner, wash hands in the kitchen sink, get treats normally only accessible to taller people... While we are in the taller world, she is informed us that she is going to name her baby boy "Loren." She made it very clear that this is not "Lauren," the middle name of her real baby sister. So, the name was written out for her on a card so that she would not forget and would know how to spell it. Such fun around dinner time and choosing the baby names of our baby's babies, albeit about two decades premature.
